One for the history books

Sure, a Gold Rush–era buggy-manufacturing facility may prove an odd workspace for 70 high-tech engineers. But, in downtown Denver’s historic district, Time Warner Advanced Technology Group (ATG) found itself in exactly that.

The building’s raw beams and exposed brick create an intriguing (yet effective) architectural backdrop for the company’s distinctively non-19th-century work style. The trouble is, they needed furniture to match: open, collaborative, adaptable, with a cutting-edge aesthetic.

And, true to form, one of our local dealers was up to the challenge.

Teammates Commercial Interiors approached Time Warner ATG with an artillery of Teknion’s newest offerings: a combination of Leverage workstations and District storage; a long Marketplace table with ample room for pair programming, monitors and other electronics; and configurable dna lounge seating for touchdown and casual meeting spaces.

As it turns out, “Teammates Commercial Interiors was able to show them exactly the look they wanted,” says Teknion rep Caven Hill. “We happened to have just the right product mix. And thanks to these ultra-functional solutions, a technology-driven company can enjoy a contemporary aesthetic in an improbable space.”

Of course, this lays rest to that age-old debate: The best of both past and present, beauty and functionality—perhaps you really can have it all.
